The Coaching

The purpose of the coaching will be to help the participants get what they need from the training, masterclasses and mentoring to meet their individual development needs. This will be done by helping the participants to:

-  understand themselves better (their underlying motivations, strengths and weaknesses);
-  clarify their long term aspirations and medium term goals; and
-  put in place an action plan for reaching those goals.

Each participant will receive at least three coaching sessions.  Over these sessions our coaching team will:

(i) administer a psychometric test (eg MBTI) to help each participant understand him/herself better and how his/her preferences are likely to influence  working style and dealings with colleagues

(ii) reflect with the participant on how he/she  reached the current stage in his/her career and what this reveals about motivations, strengths and weaknesses

(iii) help the participant to envisage his/her future in a detailed and inspiring way

(iv) analyse what the steps on the way to their vision might be and what  the participant needs to do  to take them – barriers to be overcome, actions to take, development needs

(v) reflect with the participant on  what the programme will deliver to help him/her  take the actions and  meet the development needs to reach their future vision; and in particular how to get the most from the mentoring relationship

(vi) put in place an action plan for making the most of the opportunities provided by the programme and for the next 5 years

(vii) support the participant during the initial stages of implementing their action plan and help them devise strategies for solving problems.

The Action Learning Groups

The individual coaching will be supplemented by action learning in groups of six or seven. And will focus on key management and leadership issues.
