Skillset is the Sector Skills Council (SSC) for Creative Media which comprises TV, film, radio, interactive media, animation, computer games, facilities, photo imaging and publishing.

Its aim is to support the improvements to the productivity of the UK Creative Media Industries to ensure that they remain globally competitive. It does this by influencing and leading; developing skills, training and education policy; and through opening up the industries to the UK's pool of diverse talent.

It conducts consultation work with industry, publishes research and strategic documents, runs funding schemes and project work, and provides information about the challenges the industries face and what they need to do to overcome them.

It also provides impartial media careers advice for aspiring new entrants and established industry professionals, online, face to face and over the phone.
